Branch Surfing

Lately I have been seriously stepping out on a limb and doing things that would surprise many, even myself. Here's the thing, I am having a damned good time doing it. I feel like I am finally catching up with the Abby I would of been had she not left me in the dust when I got pregnant ten years ago.
Anyway, I am finally doing all of the things I wanted to do and miss doing. Today is a trip to Jamaica. Tomorrow, who knows? My book is seriously being considered by a reputable agent... I have done a little dating here and there... life is good. I've even made some interesting friendships. Very interesting. I'll leave it at that.
I must admit that I am taking great risks to find happiness but so far, I have found that there is nothing else I would rather work harder for at this moment. I would rather struggle to be happy than to maintain the mediocrity that was my life last year. So, yeah I've been out on a limb...but I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm enjoying the climb.

  1. Go head with your bad self! Did I really just say that? I'll give the 90's back its phrase after I'm done with this comment!

K-Ci & Jo-Jo Come Clean.... : REVIEW

When I heard that K-Ci and Jo-Jo were coming out with a reality show documenting their experience going through rehab, I was excited. The first thing I wanted to know was which one was K-Ci and which one was Jo-Jo (yes, it has been that long since I have seen let alone heard of them since highschool). I always loved Jodeci and when the two lead singers of the group branched off and made a few ballads I looked forward to hearing more, but more never came. Years passed by and I continued to play their hits and came to terms with the fact that this group was never going to reunite and the two brothers whose vocals lead the group to super stardom with were coked up and out for the count. Enter K-Ci and Jo-Jo: Coming Clean. I figured they were going to finally boot the snow blizzard that packed their nostrils. WRONG. They are kicking the alcohol habit. They claim that there was never a drug problem. We all have heard otherwise, but they insist. If moscato can turn me into what these t...

Geek of The Week: Meet Anthony, Creator of the Geek Forum That's Taking Facebook By Storm

I met Anthony about two decades ago, and I'm being stingy with the time so not to reveal how ancient I truly am. We were high school kids in New York and life was fast paced. I never realized how unique he was because New York is full of diversity and well...eclectic people. Years later, I came to appreciate him in all his geekiness and realized that we had a common thread in all things geek and freak. So he is my geek of the week. Anthony has spearheaded a group called Gamers Geeks and Comic Book Freaks , or GGCF if you're nasty... or geeky. This group allows all sorts of gamers, comic book lovers and self proclaimed geeks to share intellectual discussion, gaming advice, comic book news and more. It's the place on Facebook where all the geeks go and believe me, there is an army of them. Joining the group is pretty easy...just ask. Anthony has created many different forums within the group itself so he can direct you to the page that works best for you. In addition to ...

The Dating Game(s)

The Dating Games When I was a kid, I was hooked on re-runs of The Dating Game. I loved watching all of the snazzy guys and gals in their polyester get-ups answering question after question in hopes of sashaying over to the other side of the wall divider to Mr. or Ms. Right. I particularly enjoyed when the geeky guy or gal managed to schmooze their way off their stool and past the wall divider much to the dismay of the hot hopeful date on the other side. Now, as a recently separated woman I have come to realize that the Dating Game is still running, only not on television but in my own life. The wall divider has been replaced by wisdom and intuition, and I still have several bachelors trying to get past that wall and into my heart (or pants... whichever comes first). Although I can see these men, I really can not see them for who they truly are which makes it hard for me to choose who gets to get past this wall that I have up. The funny thing about dating is all of the rules ...
