How Was Your Day? *A Poem*

wake up at about 5 just to get the little one ready I'm tired but still inspired, pacing myself keeping it steady Spooning out lunch, prepping breakfast picking out her dress, peek in the room its still too soon she's not ready to get up yet go brush my teeth glance at my phone its time to get the little one up lift little miss, give her a kiss then pour chocolate milk in her favorite cup send her to brush her teeth, shes still half asleep and crying just a little bit I never worry still have to hurry so I talk her through it I get her dressed put on her jacket and put her lunch box in her hand hugs and a kiss to little miss run back to handle biz, I got another morning to plan walk in the room reach up and tap big girl on the top bunk she slowly rises, without surprises and smiles at me yawns and lets out a little grunt climbing down with a frown she shuffles to start her routine within the next hour I need to be out the shower and hitting the highway scene I pic

When Flowers Gloom...Short Story

We were taking the clothes out of the dryer again. She used to let me help because I liked to. As she stooped to retrieve our garments, she resembled a wilting flower. She was beautiful but she was beginning to droop a bit, no longer the robust mother I remembered. I couldn't remember when exactly she began to look so weathered. "You going to help me or not?" She clucked sharply. She didn't yell as much as she used to. She just liked to remind me she can. While folding the clothes, I glanced toward the paintings on the wall. She followed my eyes and quickly returned to her task. Her brow was furrowed, she just wanted to do the laundry. "Mommy, you ever going to paint again?" I asked. "I don't know. ...No time." She mumbled as she looked longingly at her artwork displayed on our wall. This time she stopped folding. She didn't want to fold anymore. She wanted to look at her pictures. "OH, I think he likes me..." Confessions Of A Clueless Dater:Part I Too Many

There was a time that I always knew when a man was interested in me. Perhaps I was just so cocky I believed EVERY man was interested in me. Gone are the days of me believing that every man that sees me and suddenly hears a heavy bass playing with a robust woman belting out "I got to have it!". These days its quite the opposite. I am Captain Clueless and I welcome many to my ship to commence my voyage to the Land of Ignoramia where no one (especially me) knows anything. To give you an idea of how oblivious I have become to men being interested in me here are a few examples of my clueless behavior: Scenario one: Guy has been calling me and texting me and emailing me for over a year asking me to go on a date. We went on a few. Finally during a night of chatting in a diner I say: "Why do you keep calling me and asking me out all the time?" He says: "Ummmmm...because I like you?" At this point he had the wth face on because he didn't know if there was a m
